Beef and Noodle Casserole

I love a good hearty casserole and this one is so easy to throw together and fill you up! This recipe will become a family favorite for sure.

  • 1 (8 ounce) package wide egg noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup small curd cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced green onions
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cook egg noodles following directions on packaging. Rinse noodles in cold water and drain.
  3. While noodles are cooking, brown ground beef in a pan with garlic salt and salt and pepper.
  4. Drain excess grease from beef.
  5. Add in tomato sauce and let simmer over low heat for 5 minutes.
  6. In another bowl mix sour cream, cottage cheese, and green onions together. Add sour cream mixture to meat in skillet and mix well.
  7. Place noodles and meat mixture in a 9x13-inch baking pan that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray and top with shredded cheese.
  8. Cook for 20-25 minutes.
